Reliance Jio popularly known for its free voice call and amazing data plans has announced to charge Rs. 6paise/minute on other networks(Vodafone Idea, Bharti Airtel, BSNL, MTNL) than Jio. As per media release published on October 9, 2019, Jio mentioned that due to undergoing regulatory policy for mobile-call-related charges, Jio is compelled to recover IUC(Interconnect Usage Charge) charge for Non-Jio mobile voice calls. Voice call charges on other networks are Rs. 6paise/minute.
The good news for Jio customers is that the outgoing voice call charge will be compensated by free data of equal value. For postpaid customers, voice calls to Non-Jio numbers will also be charged at Rs. 6paise/minute, however, the data benefit will be credited to customer's account for the number of minutes consumed.
